Odoo 18, released in October 2024, is still supported until September 2027 (planned). That leaves time to plan, but every release you skip adds work to the next upgrade.
Odoo 19, released in September 2025, is supported until September 2028 (planned). It is one release ahead, and the main change is new constraints and security groups.

How We Move Odoo 18 to Odoo 19
Five steps, each with a clear output, so you always know where the project stands.

We list your apps, custom modules, third-party apps, and integrations on Odoo 18, then mark each one to upgrade, rebuild, or remove. You get a written scope and a fixed quote.
Test Upgrade
A copy of your database is upgraded to Odoo 19 while production keeps running. Every error is logged and fixed.
Port Custom Modules
Each module is rewritten for the Odoo 19 framework, including new constraints and security groups.
Reconcile and Test
We compare trial balance, receivables and payables, stock valuation, and open documents with Odoo 18. Your key users then test their daily work on staging.
Rehearse and Go Live
A timed dry run sets the cutover window. Go-live happens off-hours, with a rollback plan and our team on hand afterwards.
Upgrade to Odoo 19 Now, or Wait?
A one-release upgrade is usually the cheapest it will ever be, because each release you skip adds work later. Here is how to decide on timing.
Upgrading now makes sense when
- You need features or apps that only exist in Odoo 19.
- Your custom modules are few and actively maintained.
- Third-party apps you rely on already have Odoo 19 releases.
- A quieter business period is coming up for testing and go-live.
Waiting a little can make sense when
- Odoo 18 is supported until September 2027 (planned), so there is no security pressure yet.
- A third-party app you rely on has no Odoo 19 release yet.
- You are in peak season and cannot spare key users for testing.
- You would rather go straight to Odoo 20 once your apps support it.
On Odoo Enterprise
Odoo's upgrade service converts the standard apps and data of your database. Modules built in-house or by third parties are not covered unless they are under a maintenance of customizations subscription, so they still need porting and testing.
On Odoo Community
The OCA's open-source OpenUpgrade project migrates one version at a time, so Odoo 18 to 19 means one run. Coverage differs by app and release, so we check each one before planning.

Odoo 18 to Odoo 19 Upgrade Questions
Still unsure about your database?
Can I upgrade Odoo 18 directly to Odoo 19?
Yes. Odoo 18 to Odoo 19 is a single-version upgrade, the shortest path there is. The database is upgraded with Odoo's migration scripts, and each custom module is updated for Odoo 19 and tested on a copy before go-live.
Is Odoo 18 still supported?
Yes. Odoo 18 was released in October 2024 and is supported until September 2027 (planned). Upgrading before then avoids a rushed project, and Odoo 19 is supported until September 2028 (planned).
How long does an Odoo 18 to Odoo 19 upgrade take?
It depends mostly on how many custom modules and integrations you have, and how much data you hold. With one release to cross, custom code is the biggest part of the work. The free audit gives you a written timeline before any work starts.
What breaks most often when upgrading from Odoo 18 to Odoo 19?
Custom code, not standard data. The biggest change on this path is new constraints and security groups in Odoo 19.
Should we upgrade to Odoo 19 now or wait?
There is no security pressure while Odoo 18 is supported, but each release you skip adds work to the next upgrade. Plan it for a quieter period, once the third-party apps you rely on have Odoo 19 releases.
Will we keep our historical data?
Yes. An upgrade keeps your full history, including posted invoices, stock moves, and old documents. If some apps are rebuilt instead, we migrate master data and open balances, and the old database stays available read-only for reference.
Can we upgrade Odoo 18 Community to Odoo 19?
Yes. On Community, the open-source OpenUpgrade project migrates one version at a time, so this path means one run. Coverage differs by app and release, so we check each one before planning, and port or rebuild where scripts are missing.
